$295 Film and Music Industry Dorm Housing (Downtown LA)
About This House
Rates are set at $350 for a 30-day period, $200 per week, or $47 per night. All quoted prices are inclusive of taxes, utilities, and any associated fees. We do not offer private apartments; instead, we operate a co-living community. Residents share common spaces and sometimes bedrooms, which leads to significant savings and the opportunity to form lasting friendships. We invite you to experience it.
Welcome to the world\'s inaugural co-living space designed specifically for individuals in the Film and Music industries. For a decade, Artist Housing has maintained its position as the most budget-friendly housing option in Los Angeles. Work on your projects using our on-site equipment and amenities. We provide everything you might need, creating an environment where leaving is unnecessary.
We offer beds for rent within spacious shared dormitory rooms, located inside an 8,000-square-foot facility—a century-old church in the heart of Downtown LA. While primarily intended for those in film and music, applications are open to all. Situated in the premier area of Downtown, the Financial District, adjacent to the tallest skyscrapers, we believe location is secondary to the community. Every individual accepted into our community is grounded and shares similar passions.
Stay on a month-to-month basis, requiring only a 30-day notice before moving out. It\'s an excellent way to quickly meet people and learn about the area while you search for a more private living arrangement.
Many departures are bittersweet, as residents often leave having forged lifelong friends and collaborated on numerous film and music projects together. Prior to the pandemic, we hosted regular events for socializing and networking among residents and industry professionals. We also conducted classes and workshops covering the entire creative process, from initial concept to final distribution and sales. We eagerly anticipate resuming these activities. All resources are provided. Your role is to collaborate, create, and succeed.
A variety of beds and rooms are available. We have female-only and co-ed bedrooms. Certain beds offer exclusive access to separate amenities like private televisions, privacy curtains, Tempurpedic mattresses, or even a private exterior window. Queen-size beds incur an additional $50 monthly charge. For those wishing to share a bed, we offer a rent-plus-half arrangement. We have also begun including a vanity table for each bed in the female dormitories.
Other facilities within the house include a Film and Music Recording Room, a Gym, a Theater Room, a Game and Party Room, and a new Tool and Materials Room for arts and crafts. We have partnered with The Secret Spot Recording Studio to grant our tenants enhanced access to amenities. All are free to use. Our most recent addition is the Zoom Room, where tenants can participate in virtual casting calls. We are arranging for Casting Directors, Talent Managers, and Agents to interview our tenants. We believe this innovative approach to supporting tenant careers during the lockdown is unique. We have collaborated with ArtistePro to help launch this initiative.

Understanding that utilities can be costly and complicated, we provide everything a person might need at home, allowing residents to focus solely on career advancement. This includes cleaning supplies, toilet paper, soaps, an iron and ironing board, AAA service, and even communal bicycles. Also included is the fastest available internet, thousands of internet and satellite channels—featuring HBO, Cinemax, Netflix, Hulu, and more—plus daily cleaning services. An on-site washer and dryer are available, and the maid can do your laundry for just $5 per load.
If interested, you will be added to our community email list for announcements about upcoming film and music events and monthly social gatherings for roommates. Follow us on social media using #ArtistHousing. We also have a Facebook Group named 807 & Friends.
They say location is one of the top three priorities when seeking a home. We are one block from the red line metro. Our city block is directly across from both a Ralph\'s grocery store and the new City Target! It is also one block to LA Live and one block to FIDM. For night owls, the intersection of 8th and Flower is a 24-hour hotspot with a 24-hour Subway, a 24-hour IHOP, and now a 24-hour 7/11. Artist Housing achieves the highest walk scores in all of Los Angeles: https://www.walkscore.com/score/807-s-flower-st-los-angeles-ca-90017
We are typically in the area and can arrange viewings on short notice; please just provide a few hours\' advance notice via text to show contact info and describe your plans.
If an in-person visit beforehand is impossible, we can supply comprehensive information online via text, email, or a video walkthrough to assist you in making a well-informed decision.
The security deposit equals one month\'s rent plus utilities. To reserve a bed requires half of that deposit paid upfront. This secures the bed for your arrival. The sooner you act, the better, as we are often at full capacity. Please note, the holding deposit is non-refundable if you decide not to move in for any reason, including emergencies or misunderstandings, so please be certain before booking. Additionally, your reserved move-in date cannot be adjusted. You may arrive later but would be responsible for rent starting from the day the bed was made available. The remaining half of the deposit and the first month\'s rent are due upon move-in.
We now accept Bitcoin.
With our new Tenant Cloud system, every process can be completed from your smartphone—from touring the property and signing the lease to paying rent and viewing 24/7 live updates of your account.
