Construction Company in Search of a Project Manager / Project Coordinator – General Contracting

Position Overview:

This combined Project Manager and Coordinator position provides a unique balance, allowing the candidate to lead small-to-medium projects on their own while also assisting senior project managers with larger, more intricate constructions. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual eager to assume greater responsibility across the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, plan, and coordinate construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to defined scope, timelines, and financial plans.
  • Assist senior project managers on major projects with tasks related to documentation, procurement, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
  • Generate, evaluate, and maintain all project paperwork, including contracts, requests for information, submittals, change orders, and status updates.
  • Liaise with on-site supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to facilitate seamless project progression.
  • Monitor project expenditures, budgets, and schedules; contribute to invoicing and financial review processes.
  • Organize and conduct project meetings, document discussions, and ensure follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Uphold all safety, quality control, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Take part in bidding, estimation, and preliminary planning activities.
  • Aid in project conclusion, including the preparation of warranty materials and final client delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a comparable discipline.
  • Three to five years of hands-on experience in project coordination or management within the construction or general contracting sector.
  • Solid grasp of construction methodologies, documentation practices, and scheduling principles.
  • Working knowledge of industry-specific software such as Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
  • Outstanding capabilities in organization, leadership, and verbal and written communication.
  • Proven skill in handling multiple competing priorities in a dynamic work setting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in autonomously managing smaller construction projects.
  • Familiarity with regional building codes, permit acquisition procedures, and workplace safety laws.
  • Strong competency in budget preparation, cost estimation, and financial oversight.
