Our vibrant team is looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Project Architect to become a member. The perfect applicant will have a solid foundation in architectural design and project leadership, emphasizing the timely and budget-conscious delivery of superior projects. The Project Architect will manage every stage of architectural assignments, from the initial idea to final completion, guaranteeing all designs satisfy client needs and comply with regulations.

We require assistance on a part-time schedule to manage portions of our workload. This position is structured as a contract role for an independent contractor. Workload is expected to involve one to three projects monthly. Project categories will differ but will mainly consist of commercial tenant improvements and single-family residential projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design progression from the conceptual stage through to construction documents.
• Work with clients to establish project needs and goals.
• Develop comprehensive architectural drawings and plans.
• Partner with engineers and consultants to incorporate structural, mechanical, and electrical needs.
• Supervise construction stages and perform site inspections to verify alignment with design plans.
• Administer project budgets and timelines.
• Guarantee compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and professional standards.
• Offer technical direction and mentorship to less experienced architectural personnel.
• Ensure all project records are precise and current.
• Examine and authorize contractor submissions and shop drawings.
• Manage project-related discussions and negotiations with clients and contractors.
• Produce detailed architectural drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, and additional CAD applications.
• Participate in business growth initiatives to acquire new projects and sustain client connections.

Requirements

• A Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Architecture or a similar discipline is preferred.
• Demonstrated background in project management within the construction sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction management procedures and methodologies.
• Competence in architectural design tools such as AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Excellent drafting abilities with a focus on precision in all design elements.
• Capability to work cooperatively in a team setting while also demonstrating self-initiative.
• Knowledge of business development approaches in architecture is beneficial.

• At least seven years of experience working with the California Building Code (CBC).

Employment Type: Contract

Compensation: $25 to $50 per hour, based on experience.
