We are looking for an Accounting and Payroll Manager who possesses a minimum of three years of experience in payroll operations. This experience should encompass managing deductions and withholdings, processing wage adjustments, overseeing timekeeping for non-exempt staff, recording payroll journal entries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and submitting tax filings on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete payroll cycle from start to finish, guaranteeing all employee payments are processed accurately, on schedule, and in full compliance with regulations.
  • Record and perform reconciliations for all payroll-related journal entries and transactions.
  • Proactively find and enact improvements to payroll and accounting procedures to boost both efficiency and precision.
  • Work in close partnership with Human Resources, Accounting, and other teams to preserve data accuracy and facilitate clear communication.
  • Assist with audits for financial statements, workers\' compensation, and ERISA compliance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the accounts receivable system, handling specialized tuition billing adjustments and processing withdrawals or refunds.
  • Address complicated and delicate past-due accounts, field inquiries from parents, and resolve matters pertaining to student accounts.
  • Supervise the entire accounts receivable procedure, including billing, collection activities, and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Aid department to ensure adjustments are made promptly and correctly.
  • Engage in tactful and constructive conversations concerning financial circumstances.
  • Produce annual enrollment contracts and oversee the process for their completion.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the Accounts Receivable Specialist.
  • Conduct specialized reporting and analytical tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of accounting fundamentals such as prepaid expenses, accruals, account positions, and journal entries. Hands-on experience with accounting software like Oracle, SAP, or Great Plains is essential. Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a meticulous eye for detail are required. The role involves frequent manipulation, analysis, and validation of large volumes of data. Candidates must exhibit robust customer service abilities when interacting with diverse groups, including employees, parents, and colleagues. Being highly organized and tenacious in monitoring responses and pursuing follow-ups is crucial. The ability to manage confidential information with discretion is a must.

The available work schedules are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000.
