Career Strategies is currently recruiting for a variety of Apartment Maintenance roles, ranging from temporary assignments to temp-to-hire opportunities.

We have openings available across the Los Angeles area.

The compensation rate will increase upon being hired into a full-time position at one of our partner communities.

Compensation

The rate of pay is between $20 and $23 per hour, which is dependent on individual experience and the specific community.

Position Overview

Maintenance technicians are tasked with overseeing all elements of property upkeep. This includes maintaining curb appeal, addressing service requests, preparing apartments for new tenants, performing preventative maintenance, and fostering positive relationships with associates, contractors, and team members.

Technicians working with Career Strategies receive hourly wages determined by their experience, specific job duties, and the community they are assigned to.

Examples of Duties

The following types of work may be included in this role:

• Plumbing: Repairing, replacing, or installing faucets, pipes, water heaters, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, refrigerator water lines, and washing machines.
• Electrical: Repairing, replacing, or installing switches, fuses, electrical outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, HVAC systems, and garage door openers.
• Drywall Repair: Patching small holes from nails and minor wear, typically done between tenants, as well as repairing larger holes caused by damage.
• Painting: Performing minor touch-ups after repairs or applying new coats of paint to unit walls during turnover.
• Appliance Repair: Repairing, replacing, or installing household appliances including refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, washers, dryers, water heaters, and air conditioning units.
• Preventative Maintenance: Servicing HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers.
• Seasonal Maintenance: Managing swimming pool opening procedures, daily upkeep, and end-of-season closing protocols.
• Health and Safety: Maintaining systems such as sprinklers and smoke detectors.
• General: Installing locks.
