Direct Support Professional (Santa Monica)

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a highly independent female client with developmental disabilities. The client lives in an assisted living facility located in Santa Monica, California. Available shifts include Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The staff member\'s primary role is to support the client\'s participation in activities within her residence. When in the community, duties include providing transportation, accompanying and assisting with medical appointments and errands, going for walks, engaging in exercise as needed, and participating in local community outings. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and genuinely enjoy helping others. While prior experience is beneficial, we are willing to train the right individual. Applicants must possess a personal computer, a printer/scanner, and demonstrate proficiency in their use, as all documentation is handled electronically. Ownership of a vehicle, a valid driver\'s license, and current auto insurance are mandatory.

Please note: This position does not include any personal caregiving tasks such as feeding, bathing, or dressing.

Job Requirements

• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• A college education is preferred.
• Must reside within a 15-mile radius of Santa Monica, CA.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must possess strong writing, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must own a computer, printer, and scanner; have internet access; and be skilled in scanning and emailing documents. Must be competent in completing, printing, scanning, and emailing paperwork twice monthly.
• Must demonstrate professionalism and reliability.
• Must have availability that accommodates the client\'s schedule.
• Must own a vehicle, be listed on its registration, have current auto insurance, and be willing to drive with mileage reimbursement.
• Must hold a valid California driver\'s license.
• Must have a valid work permit and legal U.S. residency.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
