Med Tech Responsibilities:

This role involves providing medication support and direct personal care to residents within the assisted living and memory care sections of a senior living community. CANDIDATES SHOULD ONLY APPLY IF THEY POSSESS PRIOR EXPERIENCE AS A MED TECH IN AN ASSISTED LIVING SETTING.

Key Duties Include:

  • Aiding residents with self-administered medications.
  • Managing the proper storage, security, and record-keeping for all centrally stored medications.
  • Ensuring an adequate supply of medical materials is maintained.
  • Monitoring residents for any physical or mental changes in condition.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality and accuracy of all required records within the medication room, including those for centrally stored medications.
  • Assisting with medication administration according to physician directives.
  • Conducting resident rounds at minimum every two hours, as specified in individual service plans or as needed.
  • Documenting and reporting any changes in a resident\'s condition to the supervisor. This includes changes in the ability to perform daily living activities, skin condition, bruising, and more.
  • Using approved methods and criteria to record relevant information in resident charts.
  • Immediately reporting any incidents or accidents involving residents to the supervisor and completing all necessary documentation on the appropriate incident reporting form.
  • Following established protocols during emergency situations.
  • Responding promptly and courteously to resident calls for help, including emergency alarm pulls, phone calls, and requests from family and visitors.
  • Identifying and correcting potential environmental hazards while adhering to universal precautions and infection control procedures.
