Medical Billing/Collections Supervisor (Chatsworth)

Health Advocates is currently looking for a qualified Medical Billing and Collections Supervisor to join our primary office located in Chatsworth, California.

Job Overview

This role oversees the daily activities of the Insurance and Liens Department. Responsibilities include managing third-party liability collections and providing general departmental support to ensure accounts are processed in a timely and correct manner. Key duties involve acting as a liaison between clients and Health Advocates, assisting with workflow management, and helping to maintain departmental organization. The supervisor will monitor staff inventory levels and performance, review accounts with team members, conduct quality control audits, and update department procedures and training manuals. Additional tasks include preparing staff evaluations, addressing issues promptly, administering disciplinary actions when necessary, aiding in the planning and execution of accounts receivable projects, and ensuring adherence to all company and departmental policies, as well as Medi-Cal, Commercial Insurance, and relevant Federal and State regulations. Other related duties will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or any combination of education and experience that enables performance of the job\'s essential functions.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Minimum of two years of experience in hospital billing and collections.
• Comprehensive understanding of Government and Managed Care billing within a healthcare setting.
• Thorough knowledge of hospital billing and collections processes for both government and non-government payers.
• Familiarity with ICD-10, UBO4, Hospital Denials Management, and claims editing.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
• The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of hospital billing and collections procedures for all payer types.

Position Details

• Working Title: Supervisor
• Pay Rate: $33.00 - $51.00 per hour (Based on relevant experience)
• Position Type: Full-time; exempt
• Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
• Additional Note: Assessment testing and post-offer background checks are part of our hiring process.
