Female Live-In Caregiver Wanted, $145 Per Day for Senior Woman
About This Job
We are currently looking for a female caregiver to live on-site and provide care for a 90-year-old senior woman. This position is exclusively for live-in arrangements; only applicants willing to reside at the location will be considered. A minimum of one year of experience in elderly care is required. We will conduct reference checks, drug testing, and a background investigation. Compensation is provided in cash every two weeks.
Location
4800 block of Obama Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016
Compensation and Schedule
This is a live-in role. Pay is set at $145.00 per day, which includes a private room. The schedule involves four working days per week with three days off. Initially, the shift covers five days, but it will transition to four days once coverage for the additional day is arranged.
About the Recipient
The care recipient is an 88-year-old, kind woman with dementia. She weighs approximately 110 lbs and is 5\'1\" tall. While mostly nonverbal, she can speak several words clearly and can communicate through reading and writing if necessary. She maintains a daily routine that includes walks and manages self-feeding and dressing. She resides in an 800-square-foot, three-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles, 90016. Another female roommate lives on-site but is not involved in caregiving duties.
Role and Responsibilities
This posting is for a primary caregiver who will live at the residence and assist the recipient four days per week. On non-working days, you may choose to stay or leave. The caregiver is responsible for ensuring the recipient\'s safety and well-being, maintaining cleanliness in the living space, and providing all necessary care, including timely medication administration. If you have difficulty with cleaning tasks or are uncomfortable cleaning bathrooms or showers, this position is not suitable for you.
As the primary caregiver, you will be provided the front den room at no cost in exchange for assisting the senior tenant. This room, approximately 150 square feet and furnished with a bed featuring a new mattress, is for your personal use. The role requires your presence in the house day and night for at least four days each week. The senior tenant takes multiple short naps daily, and your assistance will be needed primarily when she is awake and mobile.
What is Provided
- Full access to the kitchen and all common areas.
- $145.00 per day, paid in cash bi-weekly. The senior sleeps 15-16 hours daily, during which you may take extended breaks. At times, other roommates or family members may supervise the recipient. You must be available to assist whenever she gets out of bed during your shift. She typically sleeps through the night but may require help if she wakes.
- The front guest room, as described above.
- No dedicated parking is available; street parking must be used.
- Opportunities for up to six working days per week may arise later in the year, or an additional caregiver will be hired for the extra days.
- WiFi access.
Important Notes
Although a room is provided free of charge, the caregiver is expected to monitor the recipient while she is in her room and remain in close proximity to assist her whenever she is walking. A bed alarm is installed for safety. A second bed is placed in the recipient\'s room so the caregiver can stay nearby overnight. The recipient is at risk of falling and must be supported while walking, though she does take scheduled walks around the block.
Only female caregivers will be considered.
Preference will be given to applicants familiar with the local area, which is primarily a Black and Latin neighborhood. A medical background and prior experience assisting the elderly are also advantageous. Please detail any relevant experience in the medical field when applying.
