A busy and expanding boutique litigation firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant. This role requires on-site presence; applications for remote work will not be considered.

Our firm is a high-volume, specialized litigation practice based in Agoura Hills, California, focusing on disputes within entertainment, copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret law. We are looking for a highly skilled legal secretary or assistant with comprehensive knowledge of filing and calendaring procedures in both federal and state courts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage all calendaring for pleading and discovery deadlines.
• Draft correspondence, discovery requests, and pleadings, including tables of authorities and contents for extensive briefs.
• Answer phones and make calls to coordinate depositions and other court-related services.
• Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems.
• Transcribe dictated materials.
• Prepare client invoices and monitor their status.
• Interface with courtroom personnel, clients, and opposing counsel.

Desired Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Corel WordPerfect, Adobe, Excel, and legal billing software.
• A typing speed of at least 90 words per minute.
• Dictation transcription capability at 80 words per minute.
• Skill in generating tables of contents and authorities.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and nomenclature.
• A minimum of five years of litigation experience within a California law office or legal environment.

Compensation & Benefits:
