A boutique litigation law firm located in Los Angeles, specifically in Sherman Oaks, is currently searching for an experienced paralegal. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
This position requires in-person attendance and includes the benefit of a private office.
Position Overview
The paralegal is a key member of SLC\'s legal team. Core responsibilities include performing substantive legal tasks, providing comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, and coordinating with various support departments. A central duty involves assembling and organizing documents for attorney review and case management.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Managing and calendaring critical legal deadlines.
- Coordinating and assisting with the discovery process. This includes gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documents for production under attorney or senior paralegal guidance, as well as managing e-discovery platforms.
- Aiding in the preparation of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, exhibits, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Assisting with trial preparation, compiling trial binders, and providing support during trial appearances if necessary.
- Conducting legal research and generating reports using specialized databases and document repositories.
- Maintaining the organization and integrity of all case-related documents throughout the matter\'s duration.
- Completing special projects on various legal issues as assigned.
- Protecting highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary firm information.
- Communicating with clients to provide case updates and relevant information throughout their legal proceedings.
- Meeting with clients directly.
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail, including scanning documents.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are interested in candidates who:
- Demonstrate proficiency with legal office applications such as Clio, Casepeer, or similar platforms, and possess strong internet research skills.
- Are adept with MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exhibit well-developed professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
Required Experience and Education
- A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program OR a bachelor\'s degree.
- A minimum of one year of experience working in a law firm or other legal environment is required. Preference will be given to candidates with paralegal experience in practice areas similar to those of SLC.
