Maintenance Lead Position at $20 Per Hour (Montebello, CA)

Our company specializes in pillow manufacturing and is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Assistant to become part of our team. The individual in this position will be tasked with diagnosing issues in production equipment, swapping out faulty components, and fabricating parts when necessary.

Primary Duties and Tasks:

• Support the smooth functioning of mechanical systems and machinery by conducting repairs on pillow manufacturing equipment and components. This work will involve adhering to diagrams, manuals, manufacturer guidelines, schematics, and technical specs.
• Identify operational faults and determine the root cause of malfunctions by monitoring mechanical operations, listening for irregularities, and performing tests on parts.
• Take apart machinery to remove damaged components and install new or reconditioned replacements.
• Fabricate necessary repair parts using the tools and machinery available in the onsite workshop.
• Assist in organizing preventive maintenance activities for equipment. This includes maintaining internal parts, cleaning mechanical instruments, and developing a scheduled maintenance plan that aligns with production timelines.
• Perform servicing on the facility\'s electrical systems.
• Uphold a secure and orderly workspace by following established procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; chains and sprockets; air compressors; PLCs. A background in engineering is advantageous.
• Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and metalworking.
• Capability to lift and move items weighing between 11 and 34 kilograms on a daily basis.
• Two to three years of experience working as an industrial mechanic or in a maintenance role.
• Understanding of OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Work Hours and Compensation:

Starting Pay: $20 per hour (dependent on experience).
Work Schedule: First shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
