Do you adore dogs and crave some canine companionship this holiday season? Could you provide a temporary residence for a large dog for several weeks or more?
Ace of Hearts is a non-profit dog rescue organization located in Los Angeles dedicated to saving dogs from shelters and offering them a fresh start.
We are seeking compassionate Foster volunteers to offer interim care for rescued dogs as we search for their permanent adoptive families. As our rescues come from shelters, some dogs may have experienced trauma, so we need individuals who can make them feel safe, at ease, and assured. It is profoundly rewarding to witness shy and apprehensive dogs begin to trust. Receiving unconditional affection from self-assured dogs is equally fulfilling. Your role will involve providing affectionate care and sharing updates on their behavior, while we supply all necessary items including a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies, and veterinary care.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTERS WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE HANDLING DOGS AND WHO ARE AT EASE WITH LARGE BREEDS.
Logan is a 3-year-old border collie and lab mix. He is currently awaiting leg surgery and therefore has limited exercise capacity. He should be the sole dog or pet in the home.
Participating in our foster program is an immensely gratifying experience. You contribute to the rehabilitation of dogs that were abandoned at shelters, granting them another opportunity for adoption. Our fosters are genuine heroes.
Our requirements for you:
- Be at least 21 years of age (if younger, parental approval is required).
- Be available to foster from December 17 through January 10.
- Possess reliable transportation and be able to take the dog to a veterinarian we select for any required appointments.
- Be comfortable with large dog breeds. We primarily rescue bully breeds, and most of our dogs weigh between 50 and 90 pounds. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU CAN ONLY FOSTER SMALL DOGS.
- Have no children under 10 years old, cats, or other dogs in your household. PLEASE do not contact us if you have children, cats, or other dogs.
- Have already discussed this commitment with all relevant parties such as landlords, property managers, or spouses and obtained their approval. Please do not reply without this approval.
If you have any questions, please get in touch. Help us save lives.
Please include your phone number and personal email address so we can contact you. WE WILL NOT RESPOND IF YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ARE NOT PROVIDED.
Thank you for your time and compassion. With the support of our fosters, we can rescue more dogs and help each of these sweet animals secure a second chance at a wonderful life.
