Position Overview

This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week. The compensation is set at $25 per hour.

The Parent Partner is tasked with offering mentorship and assistance to families and caregivers across diverse settings. Operating autonomously, this role involves working within family residences and various community or treatment locations. Key duties include acting as a liaison to encourage parental engagement and co-leading parent support groups.

Although this position is administratively based in our Glendale office, it is fundamentally a field-based role providing services to clients across Los Angeles\'s Service Planning Area 2. For a detailed map of SPA 2, please refer to the following website link.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in initial and continuing training covering Wraparound principles, program structure, and execution.
  • Recognize family strengths, core needs, and historical trauma during the planning process.
  • Apply suitable, trauma-informed strategies and interventions to aid families in recovery and goal attainment.
  • Formulate and execute individualized client treatment plans in collaboration with the Clinician, supervisors, and team.
  • Adapt interventions to be culturally sensitive, trauma-aware, and contextually appropriate.
  • Offer 24/7 crisis response, employing tools such as the Columbia Scale for suicide risk assessment when required.
  • Provide round-the-clock on-call support to parents as outlined by program protocols.
  • Deliver personalized, direct support to families in line with the established Plan of Care and decisions made by the Wraparound Child and Family Team.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all services provided, ensuring 100% monthly compliance with expectations.
  • Attend all scheduled Child and Family Team Meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the family, facilitator, family specialists, and external professionals to support parents and integrate family voice into Wraparound planning.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
  • Must be or have been a parent or primary caregiver (excluding foster parents) with 24/7 legal responsibility for a child or youth who received services from the Department of Mental Health, Department of Child and Family Services, Probation Department, or Regional Center.
  • At the time of hiring, candidates must not have had an open probation or DCFS case for a minimum of one year.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to constructively manage one\'s personal narrative regarding experiences with child/youth service systems to provide healthy, effective support to clients.
  • Must obtain and maintain a clear criminal record.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, clean driving record, and current auto insurance are required.
  • Must provide a negative tuberculosis test (Mantoux PPD or chest x-ray) within one year prior to employment and every three years thereafter.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe, is necessary.
