DOG ENTHUSIASTS: Could you offer a temporary home to a dog during the holiday period? Ace of Hearts

Foster

Compensation: $300 monthly for a dog-friendly household
Employment Type: Part-time
Job Title: Foster
Non-Profit Organization

Are you passionate about dogs and seeking some canine companionship this holiday season? Could you provide a temporary home for a large dog for several weeks or more?

Ace of Hearts is a non-profit dog rescue organization located in Los Angeles dedicated to saving dogs from shelters and offering them a renewed opportunity for life.

We are seeking compassionate foster caregivers to provide interim homes for rescued dogs while we search for their permanent adoptive families. As we rescue dogs from shelters, some may have experienced trauma, so we require individuals who can offer them security, comfort, and help build their confidence. Witnessing shy and fearful dogs gradually place their trust in you is an immensely rewarding experience. Similarly, receiving unconditional affection from self-assured dogs is equally fulfilling. Your role involves providing affectionate care and sharing updates on their developing personalities, while we supply all necessary materials including a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies, and veterinary care.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTERS WITH PRIOR DOG EXPERIENCE WHO ARE AT EASE WITH LARGE BREEDS.

Logan is a three-year-old border collie and Labrador mix. He is currently awaiting leg surgery and therefore has limited exercise capacity at this time.

Participating in our foster program is a profoundly gratifying endeavor. You contribute to the rehabilitation of dogs that were abandoned and facing euthanasia at shelters, granting them a second opportunity for adoption. Our foster caregivers are genuine heroes.

Requirements for potential fosters:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. Individuals under 21 require parental consent.
  • Must be available to foster from December 17 through January 10.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and be able to transport the dog to our designated veterinarian for any necessary appointments.
  • Must be comfortable with large dog breeds. We primarily rescue bully breeds, and most of our dogs weigh between 50 and 90 pounds. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU CAN ONLY FOSTER SMALL DOGS.
  • Must have NO children under the age of 10, cats, or other dogs in the household. PLEASE do not inquire if you have children, cats, or other dogs.
  • Must have already obtained approval from all relevant parties such as landlords, property managers, or spouses. Please do not reply without this approval.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your assistance helps us save lives.

Please include your phone number and personal email address in your response so we can reach out to you. WE WILL NOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE A PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS.

Thank you for your time and compassion. With the support of our foster network, we can rescue more dogs and help each of these sweet animals secure a second chance at a wonderful life.
