About This Job

DOG ENTHUSIASTS: Are you able to provide a temporary home for a dog during the holiday period? Ace of Hearts

Foster

non-profit organization

compensation: $300 monthly for a dog-friendly canine

employment type: part-time

If you adore dogs and are seeking some canine companionship this holiday season, could you offer a large dog a temporary place to stay for several weeks or more?

Ace of Hearts is a Los Angeles-based Non-Profit Dog Rescue dedicated to saving dogs from shelters and offering them a fresh start in life.

We are seeking compassionate Foster volunteers to offer temporary housing for rescued dogs while we search for their permanent \"Furever\" homes. As we rescue dogs from shelters, some may have experienced trauma, so we need individuals who can make them feel safe, at ease, and self-assured. It is profoundly rewarding to witness shy and fearful dogs begin to trust you. Similarly, receiving unconditional affection from confident dogs is equally fulfilling. Your role will involve providing loving care and sharing updates on their personalities, while we supply all necessary items—including a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies, and veterinary care.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTERS WITH PRIOR DOG EXPERIENCE WHO ARE AT EASE WITH LARGE BREEDS.

Logan is a 3-year-old border collie and lab mix. He is currently awaiting leg surgery and therefore has limited exercise capacity at this time.

Participating in our foster program is an immensely gratifying experience. You will assist in rehabilitating dogs that were abandoned and facing euthanasia at the shelter, granting them a second opportunity to be adopted. Our fosters are genuine heroes.

What we require from you:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (if younger, parental approval is necessary).
  • Be available to foster from December 17 through January 10.
  • Have dependable transportation and be able to take the dog to a veterinarian we select for any required appointments.
  • Be comfortable with large breeds. We primarily rescue bully breeds, and most of our dogs weigh between 50 and 90 pounds. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU CAN ONLY FOSTER SMALL DOGS.
  • Have NO CHILDREN UNDER 10, CATS, OR OTHER DOGS in your household (PLEASE do not inquire if you have children, cats, or other dogs).
  • Have already discussed this with all relevant parties—such as landlords, property managers, or spouses—and obtained their approval. Please do not reply without this approval.

If you have any questions, please get in touch. Help us save lives.

Please include your phone number and personal email address so we can contact you. WE WILL NOT RESPOND IF YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ARE NOT PROVIDED.

Thank you for your time and compassion. With the support of our fosters, we can rescue more dogs and help each of these sweet animals secure a second chance at a wonderful life.
