Salon Assistant Position – Santa Monica Hair Salon (Part-Time)

We are seeking a Salon Assistant to work closely with the salon owner. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who is either licensed or currently enrolled in cosmetology school and desires practical experience within a professional salon setting.

The Salon Assistant will provide direct support to the salon owner and aid in the daily functions of the salon. Key duties include:

• Shampooing clients
• Assisting with blowouts
• Applying color following appropriate training
• Ensuring the owner\'s workstation remains clean and orderly
• Performing light cleaning and general salon maintenance such as sweeping, laundry, and tidying
• Managing towels, smocks, and basic organizational tasks
• Greeting clients and delivering outstanding customer service
• Learning to manage light scheduling and client check-ins using the Vagaro online booking system
• Maintaining a professional and stylish appearance
• Contributing to a positive and energetic salon atmosphere

This role is perfect for someone who is keen to gain hands-on experience, possesses a strong desire to learn, and is either licensed or a current cosmetology student.

Schedule:

• Thursday through Saturday, 6 to 7 hours daily
• Some weeks may require work from Wednesday through Saturday

Primary Responsibilities:

• Shampooing clients
• Providing light blow-drying assistance
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the owner\'s station
• General salon upkeep including sweeping, laundry, and tidying
• Assisting the salon owner with daily tasks

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Licensed or presently attending cosmetology school
• Some prior salon experience is preferred
• Reliable, professional, and attentive to detail
• Friendly, motivated, and enthusiastic about learning
