Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to fill the role of Forensic Engineer on our team. This position is perfect for an individual who excels in field-based work, enjoys diagnostic problem-solving, and desires to witness the tangible results of their engineering knowledge. You will be responsible for inspecting structures, assessing risks, and formulating practical repair strategies—all while contributing to the protection of homes and businesses across Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site forensic assessments of structures, foundations, and soil conditions.
- Execute detailed inspections of subfloor and other structural elements.
- Identify defects, analyze damage, and propose appropriate repair methodologies.
- Prepare clear and professional engineering reports.
- Communicate findings to clients, internal project managers, and company leadership.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant codes and standards (CBC, IBC, AISC, ACI, etc.).
Requirements
- Professional Engineer license in the state of California (Mandatory).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of experience in structural engineering, including fieldwork.
- Prior experience with forensic evaluations and on-site troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with structural codes and industry best practices for repairs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for report writing.
- Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently and adhere to deadlines.
