Essex Electronics is a manufacturer of electronic components situated in Carpinteria, operating within the access control sector.

Summary: This position offers variety within a dynamic electronics manufacturing setting. The perfect applicant will demonstrate a pronounced willingness to learn and assist across various departments, including customer technical support, engineering, and production. We are committed to supplying the necessary training and resources for success.

Duties and Responsibilities encompass the items listed below. Additional tasks may be allocated:

1. Aid the engineering team in developing new products and revising existing ones.
2. Generate and maintain engineering documentation for the Production department.
3. Supply customers with information pertaining to installation support.
4. Support the Sales team by providing technical details.
5. Handle returns and generate credit memos using the Macola ERP system.
6. Conduct failure analysis and technical assessment for returned products.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with general computer operations is essential for success in this position. Software currently in use includes Microsoft Office, PCB Layout, and Mechanical CAD. Familiarity with ERP Systems is advantageous.

Education/Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required, coupled with over five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, an Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or an equivalent field is acceptable. Military technical training and certification are also valued. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is considered a benefit.

Equipment:

• Electronic testing apparatus (multimeters, oscilloscopes, development systems)
• Soldering irons and assembly implements
• Fundamental mechanical hand tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Superior written and verbal communication abilities, along with the professional demeanor expected for an engineering position.

Job details

Salary: $25 - $40 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Shift and Schedule: 8-hour shift

Day shift: Monday to Friday
