Transportation Dispatcher Role Overview
The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily logistics operations. This includes fostering positive relationships with both clients and drivers, ensuring the daily schedule is fully booked to utilize the entire fleet, and monitoring all shipments to guarantee timely pickups and deliveries. The dispatcher will update tracking systems and communicate proactively with customers. Additional duties involve supporting drivers with their dispatch requirements, serving as the primary communication link between drivers and clients, and handling incoming calls from drivers on the road. The role also includes conveying company policies to drivers, evaluating their performance against established standards, and suggesting corrective measures to management. Providing assistance to other dispatch staff as required is also part of the position.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Candidates must be available for a flexible schedule that includes weekends and afternoon shifts.
- Must be able to participate in an after-hours phone rotation, working remotely from home for one week each month.
- The ability to perform effectively within a team during high-pressure scenarios is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint, is required.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time position.

Schedule
