An interesting note: both Scancafé and DVD Your Memories rely on scanners that are over two decades old, with a maximum resolution of only 4,000 dpi. Other services utilize batch scanners which, in our testing, have proven to be inferior.

Our process employs cutting-edge modern scanners, which offer superior resolution and dynamic range. Each individual slide is meticulously cleaned and scanned separately. Our specialized software adjusts for variations in film type. We exclusively scan at 48-bit, 5,000 dpi uncompressed TIFF files, providing a 25-40% improvement in resolution over our competitors.

We offer a range of customizable services including dust and scratch removal, high dynamic range scanning, professional color correction, advanced restoration, contact sheets, and slide show creation. We can also handle stereoscopic, 3D, realist slides, Airequipt slides, and many other specialized formats.

Our team brings decades of expertise. Our lead colorist, for instance, color-graded 135 television episodes prior to joining us and has since corrected the color for at least 40,000 photographs.

We absolutely do not use flatbed scanners for 35mm slides and negatives, and we are always willing to explain the technical reasons why.
