Health Advocates is currently looking to hire an Insurance Collector I for its primary office located in Chatsworth, California. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in healthcare collections.

Job Overview

The Insurance Collector is tasked with the prompt follow-up and collection activities for outstanding accounts receivable billed to insurance providers, managed care organizations, government programs, and other responsible third parties. Key duties involve examining accounts to verify patient eligibility for different types of coverage, assessing older accounts to identify grounds for appealing unpaid or underpaid claims, and completing various associated tasks as required.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• Background in healthcare claims processing and collections is necessary.
• Understanding of Managed Care Contracts Interpretation and Calculations is a plus.
• Proficiency with UB04 or HCFA 1500 claims and their data components.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Attention to detail with effective organizational and time management skills.
• Fundamental office skills and computer proficiency are required.
• Must have a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.

Working Title: Insurance Collector I

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $31.25 per hour (Based on Relevant Experience)

Position Type: Full-time; Non-Exempt

Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Other: Assessment testing and post-offer background checks are conducted.
