Direct Support Professional (Santa Monica)

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a highly independent female client with developmental disabilities. The client lives in an assisted living facility located in Santa Monica, California. Available shifts include Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The staff member\'s primary responsibility is to support the client\'s participation in activities within her assisted living facility. When in the community, the staff will provide transportation, accompany the client to medical appointments, assist with errands, go for walks, engage in exercise as needed, and participate in local community outings. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and genuinely enjoy helping others. While prior experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right individual. Applicants must possess their own computer, printer/scanner, and be proficient in their use, as all documentation is completed electronically. You must also own a vehicle, hold a valid driver\'s license, and maintain current auto insurance.

Please note: This position does not include any personal care duties such as feeding, bathing, or dressing.

Job Requirements

• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• A college education is preferred.
• Must reside within a 15-mile radius of Santa Monica, CA.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must possess strong writing, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must own a computer, printer, scanner, have internet access, and be competent in scanning and emailing documents. Must be able to complete, print, scan, and email paperwork twice per month.
• Must demonstrate professionalism and reliability.
• Must be available to work according to the client\'s schedule.
• Must own a vehicle, be listed on the vehicle registration, have current auto insurance, and be willing to drive with mileage reimbursement.
• Must hold a valid California driver\'s license.
• Must have a valid work permit and legal U.S. residency.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
