Preschool Sensory Art Instructor (Los Angeles)

Compensation: $20 to $26 per hour, in addition to sick pay and performance bonuses.

Job Overview:

Our team is looking for an imaginative and energetic Arts and Crafts Instructor to facilitate interactive, enjoyable, and sensory-focused art sessions for toddlers. The role involves conducting art classes for children between the ages of 0 and 5, fostering their creative development, and aiding in the enhancement of fine motor skills through tactile, hands-on projects. Positions are available across various locations in Los Angeles County. The weekly schedule ranges from 10 to 35 hours, and paid training will commence right away.

Primary Duties:

  • Execute prepared lesson plans and organize diverse sensory activities for young children, employing materials like paint, adhesive, modeling clay, and dried pasta.
  • Establish a lively and captivating educational atmosphere that promotes discovery, trial and error, and creative expression.
  • Manage the classroom environment, remain attentive to all ongoing activities, and collaborate with parents to promote their participation during sessions.
  • Cultivate a warm and supportive connection with every child, assisting in the development of social and emotional abilities through group exercises and play.
  • Ensure a consistently safe setting by providing appropriate supervision and assistance to all children.
  • Participate in meetings with fellow instructors and supervisors to review lesson strategies, student advancement, and any concerns.
  • Clean and maintain all classroom supplies and inform management when studio materials need replenishing.
  • Handle the preparation, cleanup, and general upkeep of the studio to guarantee a welcoming and impeccably clean classroom for each session. Duties include both front-of-house and back-of-house tasks.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Must have consistent availability on weekend days as well as certain weekdays.
  • Prior experience working with toddlers and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting their learning and development.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to cooperate with parents, coworkers, and management.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring all assigned responsibilities are completed promptly.
  • Dedication to establishing a secure and encouraging educational space.
  • Dependable personal transportation and valid insurance (public transportation or ride-sharing services are not suitable for this role).
  • Must be a reasonably capable singer and feel at ease leading songs and dances.
