Position Summary:
This role is accountable for the daily examination of machined parts, sub-assemblies, and final goods produced at our location.
Primary Duties:
- Capable of reading and understanding intricate machined component blueprints (Engineering Drawings) and performing precise part inspections.
- Capable of inspecting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) according to ASME Y14.5 standards (covering true position, runout, concentricity, flatness, perpendicularity, and others).
- Capable of examining complex machined parts using manual handheld instruments (such as height gauges, micrometers, Sunnen gauges, bore gauges, pitch micrometers, optical comparators, and additional hand tools).
- Capable of generating the First Article Report in compliance with AS9102.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of recent, industry-relevant inspection experience employing contemporary techniques.
- Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 (including true position, runout, concentricity, flatness, perpendicularity, etc.).
- The candidate must be able to operate autonomously with little supervision, indicating proficient time management, planning/organization, and decision-making abilities.
- The candidate must be able to collaborate efficiently within teams comprising individuals from various organizational areas and backgrounds, functioning both as a leader and a team member.
- This position demands well-developed communication skills and the capacity to interact with personnel across all levels and departments of the company.
- The individual will frequently handle sensitive information and must be capable and committed to maintaining its confidentiality.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification is required. Certifications in precision inspection or related fields are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly necessitates standing, walking, speaking, sitting, using hands to manipulate objects and operate controls; reaching; climbing stairs; bending; crouching; and possessing visual acuity sufficient for reading and observing measurement devices and computer monitors.
- The employee may sometimes be required to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
