Short-Term Foster Needed for Border Collie/Lab Mix (Northridge)
About This Job
DOG LOVERS: Can You Provide a Temporary Home for a Dog This Holiday Season?
Ace of Hearts
Compensation: $300 per month for a dog-friendly foster home
Employment Type: Part-time
Job Title: Foster Care Provider
Organization Type: Non-profit
Are you passionate about dogs and looking for some canine companionship during the holidays? Could you offer a large dog a temporary place to stay for several weeks or more?
Ace of Hearts is a non-profit dog rescue organization in Los Angeles dedicated to saving dogs from shelters and offering them a fresh start.
We are seeking compassionate Foster Providers to offer interim housing for rescued dogs as we search for their permanent adoptive families. As we rescue from shelters, some dogs may have experienced trauma and require individuals who can offer them safety, comfort, and reassurance. It is profoundly rewarding to witness shy and anxious dogs begin to trust. Similarly, receiving unwavering affection from self-assured dogs is equally fulfilling. Your role will involve providing affectionate care and sharing updates on their behavior, while we supply all necessary items including a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies, and veterinary care.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTERS WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE HANDLING DOGS AND WHO ARE AT EASE WITH LARGE BREEDS.
Meet Logan: A 3-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix. He is currently awaiting leg surgery and therefore has limited exercise capacity. He needs to be the sole pet in the household.
Participating in our foster program is an immensely gratifying experience. You contribute to the rehabilitation of dogs who were abandoned at shelters, granting them another opportunity for adoption. Our foster providers are genuine lifesavers.
Requirements for Applicants:
- Must be 21 years of age or older. If younger, parental consent is required.
- Must be available to foster from December 17 through January 10.
- Must possess reliable transportation and be willing to transport the dog to our designated veterinarian for any necessary appointments.
- Must be comfortable with large dog breeds. We primarily rescue bully breeds, with most dogs weighing between 50 and 90 pounds. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE SMALL DOGS.
- Your home must have NO children under 10 years old, cats, or other dogs. PLEASE do not contact us if you have children, cats, or other dogs.
- Must have already obtained approval from all relevant parties such as landlords, property managers, or spouses. Please do not apply without this consent.
If you have any questions, please get in touch. Your assistance helps us save lives.
Please include your phone number and personal email address in your response so we can contact you. WE WILL NOT REPLY TO INQUIRIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE A PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS.
Thank you for your time and compassion. With the support of our foster providers, we can rescue more dogs and help each of these sweet animals secure a second chance at a happy life.
