Paid Opportunity to Foster a Dog for Dog Lovers

California Posted 8 days ago non-profit

About This Job

Los Angeles is currently experiencing a significant crisis due to animal overpopulation. Many wonderful dogs are being euthanized solely to create space in shelters. Would you like to make a meaningful difference and help save a dog\'s life?

Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is looking for compassionate and dependable foster caregivers to offer a secure and loving temporary home for rescue dogs as they await their permanent families. We provide all necessary items, including food, supplies, and medical care. In appreciation for your time, dedication, transportation assistance, and high-quality care, we offer a monthly stipend.

Monthly Compensation:

  • $300 for dogs that are friendly with other dogs.
  • $400 for dogs that display aggression toward other dogs (requires a home with no other pets).

This opportunity is not a conventional job; it is a profoundly meaningful way to transform a life. Our team is committed to supporting you throughout the entire process.

Why Become a Foster?

  • You have the chance to love and care for a dog without making a long-term commitment.
  • You save two lives: the life of the dog you foster and the life of the dog that can then take its place in the shelter.
  • The experience is rewarding, fulfilling, and enjoyable.

What We Require From You:

  • Age: You must be 21 years or older.
  • Home Environment: Your home must have NO small dogs, cats, or small children. The majority of our dogs are large, weighing between 60 and 100 pounds, so you must be comfortable handling big dogs.
  • Event Commitment: You must be available to bring your foster dog to adoption events held every other Saturday at the Petco in West Hollywood, where you will also pick up supplies.
  • Veterinary and Meet & Greet Appointments: You must be able to transport the dog to veterinary appointments and to meetings with potential adopters.
  • Household Approval: All members of your household must agree to the fostering arrangement. If you rent your residence, please ensure your building or landlord permits pets and is dog-friendly.
  • Time Commitment: A minimum commitment of four weeks is preferred. While short-term fostering is helpful, long-term fosters create the most significant positive impact.
