Lux Builders, a well-regarded local residential construction firm, is looking to hire a dependable and skilled Construction Foreman / General Contractor Assistant to become part of our team. Our focus is on custom home builds, additions, and premium remodeling work across the South Bay region.
Position Summary
This position involves a mix of direct on-site supervision and providing operational assistance. You will be responsible for managing daily site operations, leading crews and subcontractors, upholding safety and quality protocols, and aiding with logistical tasks such as material deliveries and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and assistance to construction crews across various residential project sites.
- Oversee daily site activities and workflow to ensure schedules and quality benchmarks are met.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and municipal inspection officials.
- Place orders for materials, schedule deliveries, and occasionally transport materials to project locations.
- Handle the transportation and hauling of dumpsters or materials between job sites and disposal facilities.
- Ensure job sites maintain safety standards, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Examine blueprints and confirm construction work follows the approved plans and specifications.
- Provide regular progress updates to project managers and company leadership.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in residential construction.
- At least 2 years in a Foreman, Journeyman, or Project Manager capacity.
- Thorough understanding of Southern California Building Codes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and documents.
- Competence in performing material quantity takeoffs and construction-related calculations.
- Must possess a heavy-duty truck and be available to assist with material delivery or moving dumpsters between sites as required.
- Must have personal tools and a heavy-duty truck suitable for transporting lumber and construction materials.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Capable of maintaining professional interactions with inspectors, homeowners, and subcontractors.
